Black Rice Idly Ravva

Black rice is a variety of pigmented rice. It contains numerous nutritional and bioactive components, including essential amino acids, functional lipids, dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, anthocyanins, phenolic compounds, γ-oryzanols, tocopherols, tocotrienols, phytosterols and phytic acid.

What is the description of black rice?

Black rice has a deep black color and usually turns deep purple when cooked. Its dark purple color is primarily due to its anthocyanin content, which is higher by weight than that of other colored grains. It is suitable for creating porridge, dessert, bread, and noodles.

FOR IDLY

Use 2 glass of urad dal batter, Soak the ravva for 1-2hr,mix with urad dal batter,1:2 ratio. Ferment for 1-2 hour, pour into idli mould.

Keep the idly mould in the steamer or pressure cooker. Steam for 12 to 15 minutes.
